Gingerbread Machine Embroidery Designs

This Gingerbread Men Collection includes six adorable little sew-in-the-hoop gingerbread treat bag designs.  There are two sizes for each that will fit in the 4" x 4" hoops, and a larger size for larger treat bags.  Not only can you use these to make treat bags, but they can be sewn on clothing, etc.

Just take a look below for ideas of how to use these designs!

Instructions for making these simple Gingerbread Treat Bags:

  • Use light brown felt and a medium-weight tear-away stabilizer (backing).
  • Sew all but the last color block of the design, then stop the embroidery machine and place one piece of light brown felt under the hoop. (On some embroidery machines you will need to cut the bobbin thread first.)
  • After placing felt under the hoop, continue sewing the last color block (which will be the same color, brown, as the previous color).
  • Remove the hoop from the machine, and remove the felt from the hoop.
  • Cut around the outside edge of the design leaving about 1/8" of felt around the outside of the design.
  • Optional: You may want to glue a ribbon at the top to hang the treat bag on your Christmas tree or for use as a little handle.
